When told to upgrade an already giant metal monster that took an entire new generation of tanks to deal with, you make it bigger and louder. The IS-2 is precisely that beast, designed as a capable replacement for the KV series, and it was a far better-engineered machine than its predecessor. Despite its size, it boasted thick frontal armor and a massive 122mm gun, with a weight comparable to the German Panther. The IS-2 was intended as a breakthrough tank, equipped with a weapon suitable for such a task, and it broke through the German lines gloriously, all the way to the heart of Germany.

This Bolt Action product contains enough plastic components to build the IS-2 heavy tank, along with a detailed construction booklet, full-color waterslide decals, an 8-man squad of infantry that can be used as tank riders or normal infantry, a stat card with essential information, and a set of damage markers for added realism. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, and players will need to provide their own glue and paints.

In Bolt Action, the IS-2 costs 256 points (inexperienced), 320 points (Regular), or 384 points (Veteran), and is armed with a turret-mounted heavy anti-tank gun with a coaxial MMG, a turret-mounted rear-facing MMG, and a forward-facing hull-mounted MMG. It has a Damage value of 10+ (Heavy Tank) and the HE Slow Load special rule.

Bolt Action allows players to recreate World War II combat on a tabletop, using dice, model troops, tanks, and the rules constructed by the game. Each opposing side will require painted model troops, representing the soldiers, guns, and tanks of their chosen armies. Tabletop encounters take place according to twelve closely defined battle scenarios that explain how forces are deployed and how victory is achieved. Players must pit their wits against each other as they enact a small part of one of the greatest conflicts in history—World War II.
