Key components of any Bolt Action army are infantry weapons teams, which provide great tactical flexibility for your force. Among the most prevalent are anti-tank teams and flamethrower teams, presenting multiple challenges for your opponent to overcome. American doctrines placed similar emphasis on the tasks of scouting and sniping. In the US manual, it was stated that the duty of a sniper was to kill enemy officers to damage the morale of enemy troops. Equipped with a telescopic sight on a M1903 bolt-action Springfield rifle, snipers also had close-combat weapons such as pistols and shotguns for self-defense. Both members of the team had sniper training, allowing for interchangeable roles of spotter and sniper.

Mortars were the most commonly available support weapon, with one mortar per platoon for paratroopers and Rangers. They were deployed in a suitable rear position, within 100 yards of the observer in order to cover the most dangerous approaches to the platoon area. The standard light mortar had a relatively large caliber at 60mm, firing a larger and more effective shell over a greater range compared to smaller mortars used by the Germans and British. The only drawback was its weight (19kg), requiring a larger team to move it. Flamethrowers were used throughout the war, particularly in the Pacific to clear out tunnels and bunkers. During the Normandy landings, the number of flamethrowers was increased to open a gap in the fortified lines.
